The Inter-Fraternity Council is governed by the NIC, or North-American Inter-Fraternity Conference. The NIC is an association of collegiate men’s fraternities that was formally organized in 1910. The NIC is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is operated by a small professional staff.
The Inter-Fraternity Council here at The University of Toledo is a Board made up of President, Vice President, Vice President of Recruitment, Treasurer, Secretary, and Chief Justice. Under these positions, there are chairmanships, which deal with more direct areas of the Greek community such and scholarship, community service, and sports.
IFC is the governing body over all of the IFC member Fraternities, dealing with tasks from recruitment each year to educational and leadership programming for the fraternities. It exists to promote the interests of the University of Toledo and the fraternities represented here; secure cooperation, both among the fraternities and the University, and assure maintenance of the Greek system and its ideals. IFC strives for inter-fraternal cooperation and exists to promote the well being of the Greek system on UT's campus and to ensure the continuance that friendship and healthy competition amongst it's chapters.
Currently, IFC meetings are held every other Wednesday at 8:30 in the Student Union.
